Third Grade Field Trip (AKA Pumpkin Patch Visit #3)

Earlier in the week, Justin and I went to Gullion Farms with Kyndall's third grade class.  She insisted we both go because Libby got us both on her field trip, and this was only fair :)

There were big slide races--Kyndall won every time. She used her hands to push herself down faster, which was HILARIOUS.

 She shared a swing with her teacher--they even both jumped out at the same time at the end.

She got corn in places no one wants corn.

We all took turns milking Ellie the cow.  Poor thing--she is seven months pregnant too, so we could be twins :) PS: Kyndall was too busy milking to look at the camera.

Kyndall really enjoyed all the animals--donkeys, horses, goats, chickens, rabbits, and this little guy (ha!).

They were even able to help gather eggs from the henhouse!

Gullion Farms is a "true" farm experience.  Kyndall loved it, even though she's been around farming her whole life.  It was really funny watching the kids that had never been to a farm though--they just thought everything was gross.  You mean, bacon comes from that cute little pig? My Big Bacon from Jacks Restaurant is from Ellie the cow?  What is that SMELL??

We had a great day, just the three of us.  I'm really loving these one-on-one "dates" with my girls :)

Hello, Third Trimester

This week I hit the third trimester mark.  I can't even believe it.  With both girls, I can remember the pregnancy just d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g on.  While I am very anxious to meet out baby boy, I feel like I'm going to blink and he'll be here.  So right now, I'm just going to soak up and enjoy every last second of this pregnancy.

Baby size:  a large eggplant.  It so cracks me up that all these baby sites compare using fruit and veggies.  Picturing a "large eggplant" planted inside my belly makes me laugh.

Sickness:  No nausea at all.  I have been having issues with my sugar dropping and me passing out.  Hopefully they will figure all this out at my appointment next week.

Energy:  I think I am nesting a little early.  Compared to earlier in the pregnancy, I have lots of energy. I'm slowly getting things ready in the house and I've even taken a few walks around the neighborhood.

Cravings:  Still none.  I have been getting more decaf white mocha's from Starbucks, but that's something I want all the time.  Not just during pregnancy.

Phrases heard recently:  

From a Hispanic parent at school:  "You are just pregnant in your belly....well, and these." (Said while pointing to my chest!)

From my yearbook lady:  "I'm working with another lady who is due in February, too, but you are SOOOO much bigger than she is!"
From a coworker:  "You are SO big this time... I bet he's going to be a porker!"

Feeling:  Ecstatic.  Baby boy moves all the time, I mean ALL THE TIME, ya'll.  And even though those kicks are getting stronger and harder, it just reminds me that he is getting stronger and healthier.

We are getting the nursery ready piece-by-piece.  I still have TONS to get to be considered 'ready', but I'm not going to worry about it.  If Jase decides to make his appearance before we have everything, I'll just take advantage of my Amazon Prime =) (<--I think I only feel that way because this isn't my first (or second) rodeo.  The first two times around, I totally stressed about having ALL THE THINGS!)

I know this is my last pregnancy, so I'm trying hard to remember each and every little thing.  Exactly how I feel.  Exactly how he kicks and rolls and moves.  Exactly how both girls kiss my belly and tell him good night.  I am truly cherishing each minute.

Week In The Life: Sunday Words + Photos

7:00 am- Wake up, thanks to Daylight Savings Time.  Our usual Sunday morning wake-up is 7:30.  We have certain rituals when it comes to breakfast at our house--through the week it's cereals and waffles and oatmeal;  Saturdays are for homemade chocolate chip pancakes; and Sundays are cinnamon rolls.

9:30 am- Church time.

 
12:30 pm- Quick lunch from Burger King (because Mom really wanted a fish sandwich) and then home to make punch for Leeann's baby shower.

2:00 pm- Baby shower at Aunt Lori's for Jonathon and LeeAnn.  Leopard print is big, ya'll :)

5:00 pm- AWANA's and GEL groups at church.  I can tie my shoes, it's just really uncomfortable to do so.  Thankfully, I have a husband who doesn't complain (too much) about helping a sister out :)

Now if he'll only do something about that pile of laundry in the bathroom behind him!

Week In The Life: Saturday Words + Photos

For some strange reason, both girls woke up around 6:30 this morning.  They spent some quality time snuggling and playing Minecraft while Daddy slept and I got breakfast ready.

7:00 am- Homemade pancakes with chocolate chips (our Saturday morning tradition).

11:15 am- Sent Kyndall with Rodney and Ansley for basketball practice while we went to Libby's championship game.  The final game of this year's cheer season.  The Rebels WON, by the way!  I was so proud of Libby--the cheerleaders have been a little flaky this year and at this last game, only 4 of the 9 original cheerleaders were there.  Libby didn't mind--she cheered and danced her little heart out anyway!

2:30 pm- Lunch/Supper at Fulin's with GraGra and Pops.  Loved this sweet conversation.

5:45 pm- Meet the Rebels for basketball.  Each girl was announced, Eli-Gold-style, and ran out onto the court.  They did this for youth league teams all the way through high school and then the high school teams played a scrimmage game.  It made my heart happy that our little ones got to participate in this special honor--they felt so big and important!

7:30 pm- We finished off the evening at the movies with GraGra and Pops watching Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.  We were a little late getting there to take a picture before and then after, both the girls were whiny and ill (because they were SOOO sleepy), so no pictures were made.

Week In The Life: Friday Words + Photos

6:15 am- When I woke Libby up this morning, from my bed, the first words she said were "I slept AWESOME!"

7:15 am- It's Halloween, so both girls got to wear their costumes to school.  They had cookies and candy and games and TONS of fun.

3:30 pm- Super quick, fifteen minute rest time for the pregnant mama who had too little sleep last night and too many sweets today.  All while piled in the recliner with two girls and a monster of a dog.  Max doesn't seem to mind how he needs to lay--on, under--as long as he's with his people.  He does seem to want to lay his head on my belly lately....bonding with Baby Jase already :)

6:00 pm- Trunk or Treat, take 2 at GraGra and Pops church.  Games and food and fun.  Too cold for any pictures, whatsoever.

8:00 pm- Home again, home again.  The girls wrapped up in warm pajamas and watched TV while Justin and I caught up on our "games"--Candy Crush for him, Hay Day for me.  Yes, I know we are both a little late on the times :)

The girls went to sleep sometime around 10:00 and Justin and I weren't far behind.  Another day in the books :)
